I'm definitely not the type of guy that is afraid of carrying a bag, in fact I've always had a real appreciation for them from a function and style standpoint. I probably inherited it from my father, who always has a great looking bag that's suited perfectly for the occasion.
Lately I've been borrowing his Chester Wallace tote for transporting my laptop and reading materials every morning to work the Jelly Generation show. It's got a cool shape that can be carried in its elongated form by the handles, or folded down to make use of the shoulder strap.
Chester Wallace bags are made by Portland designer Patrick Long who named his canvas tool bag inspired line after his grandfather. They're sturdy as hell, made with heavy weight cotton, a reinforced bottom and nylon handles. I love the flap pockets on either side and the contrasting color handles/strap.
Oh and for the insecure tough guy afraid of what his bros might say when they see you with your "purse", you might be comforted in knowing that Chester Wallace bags happen to be designed to perfectly fit a 6-pack of beer. Crack a brewski for functional fashion.
